Bostec X-Energized seals replace spring energized metal seals with a new low-compression design that reduces bolt loads and provides near-100% assembly yields. For the first time, Bostec X-energized seals allow aluminum fasteners to be used with aluminum flanges. In particle accelerator applications, this means the elimination of metallic bolts that become nuclear-activated, thereby markedly improving safety for operators and technicians.
